Saw these mushrooms growing in Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia, what are they? I am a fossil and mineral enthusiast but I do love biology and other nature as well!
A place to get genus/species identification from pictures of fruiting bodies! It helps to include good quality pictures of the mushroom in its native environment, the location you found them, photos of both the top and underside. It is also useful to know what the mushroom was growing on - wood, dung or on the ground? Nearby trees are also helpful to know. The more information you provide the more confident our IDs will be!Just used this box and a bit of thermocol and blu-tack (a sticky, elastic clay) to set up this amazing display for a very rare specimen! Mineral collector here- I was picking off some rare minerals that had entered a kid's rock scramble, and found this mildly terrifying thing- tumbled anthophyllite asbestos. Someone actually dared to tumble a fibrous rock into this unreasonably smooth palmstone.
